Officials said that a gunfight between police and the father of the 15-year-old girl who was slain on Tuesday was the victim of an Amber Alert in Southern California after her kidnapping.

After Anthony Graziano, 45, reportedly shot and murdered his estranged wife at her Fontana home on Monday, the Amber Alert was originally issued.

A pursuit started as deputies headed to the car to inspect it. Graziano allegedly started shooting at the deputies, "placing multiple shots through the window of the patrol vehicle

From Highway 58 to Interstate 15, when a second police unit joined the chase, it continued. Graziano fired several shots at the car, disabling it briefly, according to Dicus.
