NBA champion and former Philadelphia 76ers All-Star forward Lucious Jackson has allegedly passed away.
Jackson was 80 years old and a native Texan who formerly played for the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley.
According to KFDM, he died on Wednesday in a hospital in the Houston vicinity due to cardiac problems.
From 1964 until 1972, Jackson was a star player with the 76ers. In his first season, he was an All-Star and a member of the All-Rookie team.
Jackson played on the American men's basketball team that won the gold medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics before joining the NBA.
The 6-foot-9 Jackson averaged a double-double in three of his eight seasons and finished with a career average of 9.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
