As it nears Florida, Hurricane Ian poses a threat to Tampa Bay.

On Tuesday, after battering Cuba, Hurricane Ian headed straight for southwest Florida.

Putting the whole state's Gulf Coast in danger.

As reported by the National Hurricane Core, the storm's centre is expected to draw near the west coast of Florida on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the storm's rain started to pour down on several sections of the state.

By Wednesday morning, the Gulf Coast of the state may be experiencing hurricane conditions.

The 3.2 million people who live in the Tampa Bay area  have not been put to the test by a direct impact from a severe storm like Ian in more than a century.
