Ben Simmons's first game with the Nets ends in a loss

The Nets lost to the Pelicans 130-108 in Ben Simmons' regular season debut at the Barclays Center.

The Aussie shot only 2-for-3 from the field and ended with 4 points, 5 assists, 5 boards, 3 turnovers, 6 fouls, and 0 for 2 from the charity stripe.

Simmons, who began as the Nets' point guard, struggled on both sides of the court and was ejected in the first few minutes .

 Of the fourth quarter after attempting just three shots in 23 minutes.

Despite Steve Nash's pregame prediction that Simmons would be the "motor of this team on both sides of the ball,"

 The Pelicans easily dominated the Nets in their season opener.
