A Washington State basketball player named Myles Rice made his diagnosis public via the team's Twitter account.
Part of the statement stated, "Recently, I received the tragic news that I have been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a kind of cancer that will stop my 2022–23 basketball season.
My diagnosis has made me want to spend even more of my time and energy to my family's non-profit organization, the S.O.L.O. Center (Supporting Overcoming Life's Obstacles),
and I will utilize my achievements to be a positive inspiration and inspiring testimony for others.
I am grateful for all the love and encouragement I have so far received, and I eagerly await the day when I ring THE BELL.
Rice was slated to be a redshirt freshman this season after appearing in one game for the Cougars previous year.I wish Myles a quick recovery! All of us are pulling for you.
