Exciting new research suggests that it may be, provided that you begin or maintain an exercise routine.

The study's authors argue that their findings have significant implications for the health of our metabolisms, muscles, and ability to cope .

Despite popular belief, people of different sizes and shapes may have physiologically healthy levels of body fat.

U of M professor of fitness and metabolism Jeffrey Horowitz says, "Healthy fat is not about the quantity of fat" a person carries. 

He emphasised the importance of the fat's practicality. 

An individual with healthy fat is preferable to an individual with bad fat of the same body fat percentage.
