Bring out the blankets and comfy bedding. Dr. Sharpe recommends giving your cat beds and blankets to cuddle in

When sending an indoor cat outside in the cold, such as to the doctor, Dr. Sharpe suggests adding an additional blanket or two to their carrier.

Use heated blankets and beds. Heated blankets and bedding are excellent for outdoor cats, adds Sharpe. 

Make DIY cat shelters. Alley Cat Allies, an advocacy group for wild and stray cats and kittens, proposes creating winter cat shelters out of plastic tubs filled with straw. 

These DIY cat shelters protect cats in cold weather and save lives.
