In a Texas shooting, a "bubbly" mother and daughter are among the 5 fatalities.

After five individuals were shot and killed in Central Texas on Thursday morning, a suspect was captured.

The incident of violence, which took place in McGregor, roughly 20 miles southwest of Waco, was confirmed by the city's mayor, Jimmy Hering.

According to KCEN-TV, Hering added, "This awful and senseless act of violence has decimated our community."

"While the families are receiving information, we ask that you remember them, the cops, and the McGregor community in your prayers."

Authorities claim that the perpetrator, a guy who has not yet been identified, started firing at the responding cops as soon as they got on the scene about 7:30 a.m.

Sheriff Parnell McNamara of McLennan County reported that the suspect was hospitalized Thursday night after being shot by an officer.
