Jayson Tatum: 30 ppg for the Celtics?

Jayson Tatum might average 30 ppg for the Celtics in 2022-23.

According to The Athletic's Zach Harper, he'd be the first player in the history of one of baseball's most successful teams to accomplish it.

Harper forecasts that Tatum will become the first player in Celtics history to average 30 points per game over the course of a season.

The average of 29.9 points that Larry Bird scored for the Celtics during the 1987–1988 season is now the team record.

And the native of St. Louis has gotten quite near to that mark in the past, even averaging higher than that for a significant portion of the years 2021-22.

"Last season, Tatum had the franchise's seventh-highest effort with 26.9 points per game," says the Athletic writer.
