Hurricane The launch of Crew 5 is scheduled at 12:00 EDT, despite Ian having earlier postponed it along with the launch of the Artemis 1 moon test trip.
The four-person crew touched down at Kennedy Space Center over the weekend, including the first female captain and Russian cosmonaut to fly on a SpaceX mission.
The crew has finished their pre-launch training, and now the Falcon 9 rocket at Florida's Kennedy Space Center is waiting to send their Endurance Dragon spacecraft into orbit.
Around one day after launch, NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, together with their Japanese coworker Koichi Wakata
and Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina, are expected to reach the space station. They will stay on board for six months.
At a time when tensions between the United States and Russia over the invasion of Ukraine are at an all-time high, Kikina joins the team.
