Lionel Messi experiences an injury scare two weeks before the World Cup begins.

Lionel Messi has already stated that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be his final opportunity to complete his otherwise full and glistening trophy collection with a World Cup winner's medal.

It heightens the strain surrounding the Argentine's World Cup preparations,

which already seemed tense enough before Paris-Saint-Germain announced on Saturday that he would miss the team's trip to Lorient owing to an injury concern.

As a preventative measure, Leo Messi will continue his treatment for an inflamed Achilles tendon, according to a PSG statement.He will resume group training the following week.

After suffering after moving to the French capital last year, the Argentinian captain and talisman has found his form this season just ahead of the World Cup, 

which kicks off on November 20. He has scored 12 goals and added 14 assists in all competitions for PSG.
