NBA player discovered intoxicated in Mercedes with a gun on his lap

James Bouknight, a guard for the Charlotte Hornets, was discovered unconscious early on Sunday morning with a bag of Doritos

and a gun on his lap by security personnel working in a parking garage in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, according to a TMZ report on Wednesday.

Police officers were quickly alerted by the security team, and according to the report that followed, they were unable to apprehend him for an hour despite using their airhorns

and public address systems. After regaining consciousness, Bouknight began munching on Doritos and swore he wouldn't get out of the car.

When Bouknight was helped by paramedics, he admitted to having four tequila shots. He was promptly detained by police on suspicion of drunken driving.

Despite the arrest, Bouknight participated in Wednesday night's season-opening game against the San Antonio Spurs.
