Bill Belichick overtook George Halas on Sunday to go into second place all-time among NFL head coaches with the victory over the New York Jets.
The following day, a player who assisted Belichick in accumulating many of those 325 victories gave him praise (including the playoffs).
Tom Brady asserted that the milestone "means a lot" to Belichick as "a historian of the game" on his Let's Go! podcast, as reported by Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.
The illustrious quarterback gave the New England Patriots' coach plaudits for helping him capture six of his seven Super Bowl victories.
"You should be pleased with those accomplishments. Additionally, it's a lifetime accomplishment award, and he worked very hard to earn it "added Brady.
"And he's given a lot of people thorough instruction on how to play football. He adheres to the principles. He trusts in methods.
