Pitcher From The MLB Hall Of Fame Died At 69

The demise of a renowned Major League Baseball pitcher early on Friday is being lamented by the baseball community.

According to a statement from the St. Louis Cardinals, Bruce Sutter, a longtime reliever with the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals, passed away this week. Sutter had a 69-year-old age.

The Cardinals released a statement saying, "We are devastated by the loss of Bruce Sutter. "Sutter pitched well and was a part of the 1982 World Series winning squad.

He is a part of the Cardinals Hall of Fame as well as the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Our prayers are with Bruce's loved ones right now."

Sutter began his professional baseball career with the Chicago Cubs, where he appeared in four consecutive All-Star games. 

Sutter was transferred by the Cubs to the Cardinals despite his success with the team, where he enjoyed his sixth consecutive All-Star campaign.
