Regal closes 12 theaters in the United States.

That Regal has closed 12 of its 542 theaters is hardly surprising given that parent firm Cineworld is still in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

These 12 stadiums are Anaheim Hills 14, Calabasas Stadium 6, Westpark 8, Crow Canyon Stadium 6, Broadway Faire in Fresno, CA, Richland Crossing Stadium in Philadelphia,

Parkway Plaza Stadium 12, Cleveland-Akron Middleburg Town Square Stadium 16, Portland Sherwood Stadium 10, Las Vegas Colonnade Stadium 14, and Amarillo Star Stadium.

Many of these theaters are reportedly older, dilapidated buildings, so it's not surprising to see them close down, according to our sources.

Given its affluent location, we've heard that one exhibitor may try to get the lease of Calabasas Stadium out of the group. AMC has generated buzz.

Why is that so? The landlord of Calabasas Stadium 6 is Caruso Management, which also owns The Grove in Los Angeles and The Americana in Glendale, California.
