A group of scientists claim that the concept of an underwater planet, which has inspired much science fiction, is not so distant from becoming a reality.
They found a place underneath the surface of the earth that could contain as much water as all the seas on the planet put together.
The discovery may lend credence to a hypothesis that has shook up conventional understanding about the origin of water on Earth.
It was tipped off by the discovery of a diamond.
The diamond was discovered in Botswana, Africa, more than 2,100 feet below ground, and geoscientists at Goethe University in Frankfurt.
They determined the stone held a lot of water after studying its contents.
