Sub-Saharan Africa will be able to watch the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Showmax Pro in 4K.

By live streaming all 64 games of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Showmax Pro will broaden its coverage of the greatest soccer from across the world.

SuperSport will broadcast the coverage, marking a first for an African streaming platform, in 4K.

France, the current world champions, will defend their title during the World Cup, which will run from November 20, 2022, through December 18, when it will be decided.

The Arab world will be hosting the FIFA World Cup for the first time this year. Africa will be represented by Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia.

"We established Showmax Pro with our football-mad continent in mind," said Yolisa Phahle, CEO of connected video at MultiChoice.

"We were the first streaming service in Africa to make mobile downloads feasible for offline viewing and we produced the lowest data streaming option in the continent.
