Major Appeal News Triggers Reaction From NASCAR World

Hendrick Motorsports has made the decision to contest the $50K fine imposed on William Byron on Tuesday.

For pushing teammate Denny Hamlin out of position during a late-race caution on Sunday, Byron was assessed that amount of fine.

Additionally, he received a 25-point penalty in the rankings for team owner and driver.

Byron was third in the Cup Series Playoffs before to being punished. He currently occupies the tenth position among the 12 still eligible drivers heading into Sunday's race at Talladega Superspeedway.
