The Rams' concussion protocol for quarterback Matthew Stafford is going well.

Since entering the protocol on Tuesday, the quarterback has been "making excellent work and steady advancement,".

According to Rams coach Sean McVay on Friday.

Stafford practiced throwing the ball and working out on Thursday, and he had a little role in Friday's Rams practice.

But it doesn't guarantee Stafford will start Sunday night's game at SoFi Stadium for the Rams (3-5) against the Cardinals (3-6).

If McVay has his way, Stafford won't be allowed to play until 90 minutes before kickoff.

As he continues to go through the NFL's concussion protocol.
