U.S. voters as a whole favor federal marijuana legalization.

A representative sample of 2,005 registered voters were questioned in the survey, which was conducted from September 30 to October 2, 2022, about their opinions

on the legalization of marijuana at the federal level. The outcomes were as anticipated and consistent with those of other polls carried out over the previous several years.

Voters are split about evenly, with 60% in favor of legalizing cannabis for recreational use and 27% opposing it. 13% of people are still unsure.

71% of Democrats, 61% of independents, and around 47% of Republicans support federal cannabis legislation.

It is significant to note that while just 16% of Democrats and 24% of independents oppose it, 41% of Republicans do.

Compared to 58% of white voters, as many as 72% of Black and 67% of Hispanic voters support marijuana legalization.
