NFL players being released by their different clubs isn't often a pleasant thing, but in one instance it may be - at least for the team.
The New Orleans Saints dismissed seasoned quarterback Jake Luton on Saturday afternoon. That's the terrible news, but there was also some good news for the team.
After the organization dismissed Luton, insider Nick Underhill of the Saints said that starter quarterback Jameis Winston would likely play.
"RB Jake Luton was released. It appears that Jameis will be active "Underhill tweeted a statement.
Although the Saints have officially stated that veteran quarterback Andy Dalton will start, Jameis may play on Sunday afternoon.
Dalton will play his previous team, the Cincinnati Bengals, in this game as retaliation. The Saints go into the game as the underdogs despite playing at home.
