Why you shouldn't eat bananas for breakfast

The AlkaMind diet's creator, Dr. Daryl Gioffre, says bananas are unhealthy for breakfast.

Despite its potassium, magnesium, and fibre content, the tropical fruit isn't a healthy morning snack. Dr. Gioffre explains that "they're 25% sugar and fairly acidic."

You'll feel good for a while, but you'll soon be hungry and exhausted again. Dr. Gioffre calls them "Nature's sweets".

They can really trigger cravings, which could lead to overeating.Banana-as-breakfast aficionados, there is yet hope.

Adding healthy fats, spices, and herbs to a banana will reduce its insulin rise and make you feel stronger.

Because bananas are acidic, you'll have to neutralise the acid to get the advantages of potassium, fibre, and magnesium without the sugar rush
